BMW is one of the world's leading manufacturers of quality cars and motorbikes and is the parent company of the MINI and Rolls-Royce car brands. The acronym BMW stands for "Bayerische Motoren Werke" - or "Bavarian Motor Works" in English.

BMW bought the Rover Group in 1994, selling MG, Rover & Land Rover in 2000 but retaining the rights to build the new MINI, launched in 2001.

BMW Offers Bluetooth Technology

Sphere: Related Content

Some bad news for folks who cannot stay off of your cell phones: state and local legislatures are starting to crack down. Because of the increasing number of motor vehicle accidents caused by distracted drivers who attempt to have phone conversations while behind the wheel, more and more states and municipalities are passing stringent laws against cell phone usage whilst a vehicle is in motion - and still penalties for those found in violation.

The good news is that in most cases, "hands free" cell phone usage is still allowed. A hands-free device for BMW phone users was one of the earliest such pieces of equipment, made possible by the technological miracle of BMW Bluetooth.

Today, most BMW phone users can easily connect their cell phones to their BMW Bluetooth systems. The technology installed in all new BMW 3-Series vehicles as well as the X3 and X5 SUVs and the Z4, M3 and M4 roadster can automatically transfer a call-in-progress to the BMW Bluetooth system as on enters the vehicle - so BMW phone users can continue their conversations hands-free while driving.

This process requires of course that your vehicle is equipped with BMW Bluetooth and that you have both a Bluetooth passkey and that your BMW phone is in fact Bluetooth enabled.

First, start the vehicle. Your BMW Bluetooth automatically goes into pairing mode for the first two minutes of vehicle operation.

Next, you'll need to call up the Connections menu on your cell phone and select the device search function. Once you see an ID code on the screen starting with "BMW," select it an enter the BMW Bluetooth passkey. You'll note whether or not the pairing process was successful by looking at the radio display, indicating that your data is downloading into your BMW phone system. Once this has been completed, simply make a test call.

Congratulations! You're all done!

How to Buy a Used BMW Motorcycle

You may think that it is easy enough to go out and buy a used BMW motorcycle, but there are actually a few different factors that you are going to want to take into consideration here. If you want a used BMW motorcycle that is going to be worth you purchasing, here are a few steps that you are going to want to follow.

Know What You Want

Of course the first step is going to be for you to figure out just what you want, what it is that you are looking for. There are various different used BMW motorcycle models that you have to choose from, and so you want to take the time to figure out what they all have to offer, so that you can decide which you want.

Of course you are not going to be able to search for a motorcycle unless you know what type it is that you want, and then you can even place a wanted ad in an auto retailer so if any seller is offering this type of bike and they see your ad, they will be able to contact you and save you time and trouble.

Do Your Research

You need to be aware of what sellers you are dealing with, whether you are interested in purchase a used BMW 3 Series used BMW motorcycle or any other type. You need to know what their background is, what return and refund policies they offer, and even read reviews on past consumers who have dealt with them before, to get the best idea on whether or not they are a reliable seller and one that you are going to want to do business with.

Look at the Bike

Even if you have seen pictures and the used BMW motorcycle seems to be okay, just as you would if you were shopping for any other type of vehicle, you want to make sure that you check it out firsthand before agreeing to purchase it.

If you are buying online this is often not an option, but then you should make sure even more so that you read all the fine print and that you are aware of all the details before deciding whether to buy the used BMW motorcycle or not.

Buying a used bike is more difficult than buying a new one, because you have more to worry about and need to ensure that you are not going to be getting ripped off.

BMW Pricing Is Worrying, But Not Enough To Put Off Buyers

Sphere: Related Content
Notwithstanding the fact that BMW pricing can often end up burning a tiny (at the very least) hole in your pocket; a BMW certainly justifies its price tag because of the quality of workmanship and the excellence of materials used in creating each model. In fact, many people are even prepared to overlook BMW pricing and still opt for this brand of automobile – mainly because of the bulletproof reputation that BMW enjoys in all parts of the world.

Outsourcing To Cut Costs

Today, nearly every automobile manufacturer is struggling with manufacturing costs and outsourcing is a common ploy used to help ensure that prices do not go through the roof. In the case of BMW, the reputation that this company enjoys is not because of factors such as excellent marketing or high BMW pricing; BMW has built its reputation around providing quality automobiles that will last you a lifetime and give you a wonderful opportunity to enjoy luxury and high performance; never mind the somewhat high BMW pricing.

This is what makes buyers ignore problems with BMW pricing and still buy a BMW. The fact is that a BMW car requires very little maintenance work and the need for repairs too are few and far between. Once you overcome the psychological BMW pricing barrier you will find that buying a BMW will end up making you a very happy and proud car owner.

Part of the reason why BMW pricing is on the high side is because the BMW car incorporates the best technologies that help create high quality and powerful engines; and, you get excellent materials and outstanding craftsmanship. If you want quality, luxury and comfort then you should expect to pay a little more for it.

BMW pricing is actually a testimony to the high quality materials used, and the great attention paid to the minutest of details as too to the strength of the BMW car’s body that together will ensure that your expensive car survives many long years of wear and tear.

A surprising thing is that there are many car owners that are of the firm belief that BMW pricing is not an issue for them because they believe that a BMW is actually among the cheapest of all cars available; the reason for such thinking is that BMWs are always sure to stay in mint condition and therefore there is very little loss in resale value.

You will also be pleasantly surprised to learn that the price that you will end up paying for a brand new BMW car will not be much more than what you would end up paying for a five year BMW. Such is the quality of these cars! Is it any wonder then that owners of BMWs have started to form their own communities and that there are also many forums available on the World Wide Web that are helping owners to interact with one another and in the process get useful tips and insights about owning a BMW?
